UK Statutory and Tax Team Lead

We are looking for an UK Statutory and Tax Team Lead for our multinational partner, which has established a Business Support Center in Budapest for providing Finance/Accounting, Customer Service and Procurement services.

Job summary:

We are looking for a UK Stats & Tax Team Lead to lead a specific country focused Statutory Accounting and Tax team and provide support to the relevant business and Finance CFO team and BP Tax.

Responsibilities:

Coach and develop members of the team and coordinate team activities
Review of draft statutory accounts prepared within the BSC, director's brief, audit file, tax packs and quality control check lists
Provision of technical accounting advice on queries raised
Preparation and timely submission of all required VAT and Intrastat returns for business/legal entities supported by the team
Perform required reconciliations between VAT and Intrastat returns and between VAT submissions and relevant General Ledger VAT accounts
Ensure the team fully complies with the Balance Sheet Integrity standard and reports on a timely and correct basis to the Internal Control team on ledgers for which the team is responsible
Deal with Outsourced Service Providers, relevant tax authorities and related teams within BP

Requirements:

Fluent English
Experience of managing teams
Financial accounting experience (IFRS or US GAAP)
Expertise in local GAAP reporting
Direct and Indirect tax experience
Recognised accounting qualification
Able to manage multiple/conflicting priorities with a strong track record of delivery against tight deadlines
