Job summary:
The Fixed Asset Accountant role is designed for:
- ensuring timely and accurate preparation and review of statutory accounts, especially AP/AR for assigned entities in the country supported by the team
- preparation and support for period close
- timely response to queries raised on accounts and other analyses
- reporting and control activities to assure compliance with relevant laws and regulations in the country supported
Responsibilities:
- Inventory Management Fixed Asset Accounting (w/o capitalization)
- Allocation of purchase requisition, handling of purchase requisition for capital expenditures German HGB and IFRS, account assignment and clearance PM-orders for capital expenditures)
- Verification and handling of adjusting entries and transfers for capital expenditures
- Query handling for capital expenditures
- Screen and review inferior assets, preparation and booking of transfer posting documents
- Processing of disposals incl. preparation of disposal journals
- Period end close (monthly, quarterly, year-end) - transfer of assets under construction to addition to fixed assets
- Calculation and verification of depreciation in terms of commercial law, according to tax law and costing based, depreciation according to IFRS and identification of environmental prodection capital expenditures
- Reconciliation of accounts, preparation of quarterly reports and ad hoc reports
- Identification of values for fire insurance, planned values for depreciation
- Alignment and reconciliation of general and sub-ledgers as well as ECCS German HGB Group Reporting
- Ensuring proper accounting treatment, particularly with regard to fixed assets management in SL, GL and ECCS,
- Ensuring the right assignment of assets to the functional entities through monitoring activities and reconciliation of fixed assets ledger,
- Ensuring that all asset movements are compliant with BP Policy & Authorities (Group Reporting Manual), German GAAP and IFRS,

Ensuring compliance with "Component Accounting"
Reqiurements:
- fluent German and English
- financial accounting experience (IFRS or US GAAP)
- high level of analytical skills, numeracy and financial awareness
- ability to manage external and internal relations
- experience with ERP
